Day 68 Lake Argyle
Today was a very late start for me. I slept in until 10:30
as I was exhausted from yesterday and the

flight back did not really agree with
me and my sense of balance. Anyway, I slept in and when I did get up, Maureen
was up at the pool and had snagged 2 sun lounges and had set up shop there in
the shade. Off I went and joined her and we lolled about the pool. Whilst I was
there staring at the cliff opposite the pool, there is a big white patch on the
wall and it looked like someone has painted it on there, but it is

halfway down
the cliff. As the sun got towards mid-day, the light shifted and I could just
make out a small ledge there and as luck would have it, a small eagle flew onto
the ledge and did what all birds do and crapped down the wall – mystery solved,
it is a nesting spot and it was bird poo. So obvious when you think about it.
We spent the day at the pool and did not leave until about 4 when we went over
to the café and had a coffee and watched a video about all the places we had
been and all the sights to see that

we had seen. It was good to see that we had
not missed much on our way.
As the sun went down, we caught up again with our neighbours
from across the way Steve and Tracy. They are doing something similar to us
where they are making their way around Australia except they are going via
Queensland. Their kids are just great. For two four year olds, they are very
well behaved yet also outgoing and enjoying themselves. They have hired a van
and are doing the trip that way and are really getting into the lifestyle. We
met them yesterday and they were going to leave today as they have relatives in
Queensland that were pushing for them to meet them there. I think we have been
a bad influence on them when we They said they had told their relatives not
to wait for them as they would be getting there late.

pointed out that we were about a month behind
our schedule but we had done all sorts of things on the way that we would not
have done if we had rushed. This was last night and today they were still here
and Steve had taken the kids down to the bottom of the dam wall and went fishing.
Barry was also there. Barry was a chef in America and had
worked at all sorts of places including a string of Casinos, he was also
involved in organising feeding Firemen across the country when they

have big
fires on and thousands of mouths to feed, but his main one was working as a
personal chef to film makers, not the caterer, but a chef just for the
Producer. He had lots of stories to tell and was very entertaining. He is
trying to get himself over to Australia as he loves it here and is driving
around Australia. We had swapped stories the previous night about where we had
been,

Barry was going west and the rest of us going east so we traded advice,
it had been a really good night and we had all clicked nicely. Tonight was a
little different in that Barry was not feeling well and left early to get some
rest. We stayed there until 10 and then went home to bed. It was a really nice
and relaxing day.
