Not such a hectic day as the past couple. We got up and had
breakfast. We ran out of water last night so it was a dry start. Maureen
organised it so we could have tea and do the basics with the water we had left.
We obviously do not have as much water as we think and I am considering putting
a couple of jerry can holders on the back of the van and put water cans there.
We left Karajini about 10:00 and headed for Tom Price. The drive is an easy one
and was easily done in just over and hour and a half which included a stop off
at a scenic spot.

We drove up this steep gravel road to a car park at the top.

Lovely view from there and people seem to have taken to leaving rocks in memory
of people. Once at the caravan aprk we booked in for 2 nights at $42 a night,
no free laundry or dryers here!. The well oiled team swung into action and the
van was unhitched and set up in record time. The park is quite a long way out
of town. There is no way we could ride in there on bikes or gopher, no paths
and too long.

In town there is a festival and as they haad heard I was
coming, they decided to move the fireworks to tonight to celebrate. We are
intending to go in and give the royal wave etc. we were looking through the brochure
of things at the festival and one of them is the “Lamb Van”, Maureen is
thinking of asking them for a days work!!
On the way back out to the park I missed the turn off and we
went on a

slight detour. The country is vry hilly and quite beautiful and as we
turned around I noticed that the path we were using for the turn around was a
railway line service road. Gavin had just been on the phone asking if we had
been off-road and we decided we would give it a go. It was great fun, the road
was rocky and steep and we had only gone 100m when we spotted a Sturt Pea.
Maureen took some pictures but they did not turn out too good. We then
proceeded down this track through all there hills and low and behold off to the
side was this quarry site and I said to Maureen that it

would be like the one
Tim had worked on and it suddenly twigged that we think it is the one that Tim
worked on. We could not see any SJ Crushing signs but we are pretty sure it is.
Got the pictures to prove.
Went along the side road for quite while until until it
ended on the road again. So back to the Tarmac and back to the park.

I was not feeling all that well today but my amazing wife
takes it all in her stride and decided to amuse herself by washing her bike,
well eventually. Maureen decided before she washed her bike, she would try it
out on the car. She dusted it off first then got a small amount of water in a
bucket and washed the car. It went from a rut colour back into the green. That
done, she was still

unsure if it was safe for her bike so she decided to try it
on the caravan and washed that! Happy now that her bike would be safe, she
washed her bike, now sparkalarkling clean. Not content with that, she then
whipped up a roast chicken dinner! I am in total amazement.
Whilst I was sitting around, I updated the blog site and
converted all the pictures ready.
Just watche dthe fireworks. Spectacular! It was even early 7:45 instead of 8. I spoke to the Town Ranger today (she was asking why I did not have an ACROD sticker, Smiled and got away with it, lovely lady, got third in the art competition.) and I was asking about the fireworks as the brochure said it was at the village green, but did not say where that was. She was surprised it was tonight and had no idea where it was but she was expected to over see it!
